
Ballet is a form of dance that uses scenery, music, and the movements of the dancers to tell a story. Learning classical ballet takes years of training.
The word ballet comes from the French word ballet, originally ballette, which itself is from the Latin word ballare, which means to dance.

Ages 2 Years +
JUNIOR
In our junior classes students learn elements of many different dance genres. These classes focus on having fun and teach basic technique, musicality and grace.
They will work towards performing a routine at the End of Year Concert.
Junior 1 and 2 will also complete a medal test in term 3.

Junior 1, 2 & 3

Ages 7 years +
BALLET GRADES
The students will follow the NZAMD ballet syllabus and work towards their examinations in September.
They will then prepare and work towards a dance for the End of year concert.
Classes include:
Ballet Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6.

Ages 12 years +
SENIOR
The students will follow the NZAMD senior ballet syllabus including pointe work with classes twice a week and work towards their examinations in September.
They will then prepare and work towards a dance for the End of year concert.
Classes include:
Elementary, Intermediate & Advanced
